FAIRFIELD PARENT NEWSLETTER AUTUMN TERM 2025

The Fairfield Team would like to wish all our new families a warm welcome that have joined us this Autum. We look forward to spending time with you at all our upcoming charity events, stay and plays and parents evenings.

As we approach the colder months, this creates lots of new learning experiences for all our children, observing changes to the weather, nature, habits and even our moods. With the ever changing environment this gives us lots of opportunities to explore our outdoor area and our local community igniting our curiosity and resilience through exciting experiences we can share together. We will be learning about how animals prepare for the colder months, how they forage and store their food, and how some animals create cosy homes to hibernate in for the winter. As farmers start to harvest their crops we will encourage the children to learn about healthy choices, the effect exercise has on our bodies, and how we can wrap up warm in the winter so we can still enjoy being outside in nature.

Learning focus at the moment

Babies

As we have lots of new babies, we will be focusing on making key attachments to their keyperson and encourage them to become confident explorers of their environment. We will be doing lots of singing and reading books for children to practise their babbling skills as they learn new words rapidly.

Toddlers

Our toddlers love to explore in their environment, we will be focusing on our independence skills when getting ready to go play outside, this is a life skill the children will develop over their time in nursery, finding our own wellies, taking our shoes off, pulling up our outdoor pants. Individuality as part of our curriculum helps us recognise each child’s skills are work on these with them to become resilient confident and a willingness to “have a go” attitude to learning.

Preschool

Preschool will be taking part in our language classes over the winter months, we will be having our French teacher come along to nursery and help us learn a new language through activities and singing. Cooking club is a highlight for all our children’s week, this STEAM activity helps children to learn about changes, practise their mathematics, and experience different flavours from around the world
