World Water Day

The Fairfield children have enjoyed taking part in lots of different water activities to create an understanding of how water is important to us, what we can do to reserve water and how we can use water in lots of different ways.

We have built a repertoire of water songs with our toddler children and sang “rain rain go away” when making cloud pictures, focusing on our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination when using puppets to add paint. The toddlers than used their musical skills to make some rain makers for using at circle time when we sing songs “like incy wincy spider”. We were very proud to show our families at home time.

Preschool have taken part in a sink and floating science experiment, they have a deeper understanding of weight and how something that can float can also be sunk to the bottom if we add water to the top of the object.
