The Pre-school children at Oakwood House marked the Chinese New Year this month by making a Chinese dragon and then taking part in a traditional a dragon dance. The children have been exploring Chinese culture and traditions and have been learning about all the customs involved in the celebration.
Samantha Richmond, nursery managers explains " It is important that the children develop an awareness and respect for one another’s culture from an early age and we have children from a diverse range of backgrounds. The activities will help to create an understanding in the children that different cultures are something to be embraced, shared and enjoyed.”
