In the forest school session with Jordan this week the preschool children have been learning to use secateurs to create their own Stick Man. They had a tool talk and talked about how to use the secateurs safely and correctly.
The children chose their stick and then used the secateurs to chop the stick down to size. They learned how to tie a clove hitch to tie the arms onto the body.
The Stick Man story is a favourite in pre-school and in this activity the children were very enthusiastic about making their own character using their imagination and developing their communication skills by telling their own Stick Man story. The children even talked about whose was the longest. The children were all very proud of their creations!
