Spring Activities!

The Holly Bank babies have enjoyed various spring activities.

Our sensory tray was turned into a wildlife tray with ducks, chickens and eggs! We explored fuzzy tissue paper that baby chick's like to keep warm in! We used our musical eggs to make music and sing "Chick chick chick chicken lay a little egg for me". Outside in our garden areas we took part in planting our own vegetable seeds into little pots and soil. We developed our hand eye-coordination skills by scooping up the soil and putting it into our little pots! We also developed our fine motor skills by pushing the seeds into the soil.

We went up to the willow garden where we went on a bug hunt and found some wiggly worms hiding under the logs. We watched them wiggle in the mud and sang "there's a worm at the bottom of the garden". The babies took part in Easter crafts by making spring feather pictures with sticky glue and Easter chick cards using their handprints. They explored the texture of the paint on their hands and we introduced key words such as "wet sticky and cold".
