The Fairfield children have used all their senses to explore pancake day, smelling the lemon, feeling the dough and batter mix (corn flour) using hand eye coordination when flipping pancakes in the frying pan. We have been creative in the playdough making our own pancakes for each other, we talked about if we are having pancakes at home with our families. We used our fine motor skills to make small toppings for our pancakes, we crossed our midline when putting pancakes in to our frying pans and explored lots of new words such as “lemon zest” and “batter mix” when stirring the cornflour together.
All the children and staff enjoyed yummy pancakes after our lunch, topped with bananas and chai seed jam.
