The Harlequin Poppies enjoyed picking our vegetables planted last spring.
‘It’s like digging for gold’ a child says as he finds a potato hiding under roots. Using a spade and using their hands children managed to collect 8 potatoes and 6 beans.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to get involved with fresh food in a fun way. They developed a great interest in how they can grow what they eat, discussed about their favourite vegetables and then asked whether they could try them cooked or raw.
