Oral Health Day

Holly Bank this week celebrated Oral Health Day and focused on learning how important it is to look after our teeth and keep our smiles healthy.

The children enjoyed taking part in discussions about good dental hygiene and learned why we brush our teeth twice each day. Using a large model set of teeth, we demonstrated the correct way to brush teeth carefully and talked about how brushing helps remove germs and keep teeth strong and clean.

We also explored different types of foods and worked together to sort them into groups. The children discussed which foods are healthy for our teeth, which foods contain high levels of processed sugar, and which foods contain natural sugars. This helped the children begin to understand how the foods and drinks we consume can affect our teeth and overall health.

The children were very engaged throughout the activities and enjoyed sharing their own experiences of brushing their teeth at home.
