National story telling week

To start off our story telling adventures today the Portland House babies took a trip to the library, we were on the hunt for some alternative new nursery rhyme books to learn the words to.

We found an adaptation of “5 little frogs” counting up as the frogs found their friends in the bog and pond and it went like this:

“1 little speckled frog jumped from the speckled log hoping to find all of their friends, glub glub. One frog was on a stone there's no need to be alone, now there are two green speckled frogs glub glub.

2 little speckled frogs jumped from the speckled log hoping to find all of their friends glub glub. The next frog was by the shore, just who we're looking for, now there are 3 green speckled frogs glub glub.

3 little speckled frogs jumped from the speckled log hoping to find all of their friends glub glub. Frog 4 was stuck in weeds, just hold we'll set you free, now there are 4 green speckled frogs glub glub.

4 little speckled frogs jumped from the speckled log hoping to find all of their friends glub glub. Out popped the last green frog look I'm right behind this log, now there are 5 green speckled frogs glub glub.'

We sat in a circle at the library and enjoyed using the book to help us learn the words, back at nursery we will introduce this song into our singing times. Children enjoyed counting the frogs on the pages.
