Ice play!

The Oakwood House toddlers have been enjoying the weather this past month. They’ve seen frost, snow, rain and sunshine, but they’ve been particular fond of the new experiences with frost and snow!

During this weather we’ve been learning about keeping warm when it’s cold and about how ice is formed and how it melts. The toddlers loved cracking the ice when standing on it and also listening to the sound as it crackled underfoot. They loved the ice that much we had it in the water tray at our Stay & Play. The ice had different objects in and we had to defrost the ice to get our toys back. Some of the ice had Christmas flavours in such as cinnamon and ginger so as the ice defrosted it let out a lovely Christmas aroma.
