Habitats!

Portland House toddlers have been learning all about habitats and discussing where animals and insects live in our garden. We went to the woodland area to see if we could find any animal houses and looked up into the trees to see some birds’ nests. The children then helped to collect some sticks, pinecones and leaves that we used to make our own nest.

This week we are going to see if any animals come to live in our nest. Later in the week we went to have a look at the nest that we made, unfortunately none of the birds had come to visit so we made it into a home for the worms to live in with water, mud, sticks, bark and leaves, the children enjoyed going on a worm hunt to find some to add to our worms house.
