Pre-Schoolers at Oakwood House have been very busy making bird feeders today. Showing concern for other living things is a great way to help build children's empathy. Watching the birds feeding from our bird feeders is always very exciting. We talked about what the children think that birds eat and whether their winter food is different from their summer food, as it’s harder for the birds to get worms when the ground is frozen. The children then hung their feeders on the tree and waited for all the food to be eaten.
