Holly Bank June Stay and Play was a lovely one! We enjoyed a picnic outside in the sunshine with our families and friends, eating lots of tasty treats. We then had a go at building some dens out of logs, string, and fabric. Our parents and staff helped us to make them stand nice and tall.
Den building allowed the children to interact with natural elements. They learnt to negotiate, problem solve, resolve, manage and work as a team.
Den building allowed the children to build on their learning by thinking creatively and putting their ideas into reality. Creating dens gave the children an opportunity to think outside the box and problem solve in order to create their den.
Children also developed communication and language skills as they work as a team to create their den. They took turns to engage in a conversation, explain their ideas and negotiate with others.
