Orange and Black Day - Oakwood Halloween

The Oakwood House preschool children have had a great day celebrating Orange and Black day.

The children have taken part in pumpkin carving, scooping out all the seeds and flesh and making scary and happy faces on them. We dried out the seeds, roasted them for us to try, they were delicious. The children have also enjoyed taking part in recreating the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’ we made our very own pumpkin soup and used resources to develop our hand and fine motor coordination to serve out the soup.

The Oakwood House toddlers have had a spooktastic day creating cats, pumpkins and worms with the black and orange playdough, we added pumpkin seeds too, it made a lovely texture. We got creative with black paint and some of us even turned our handprints into spiders! In our tent we told spooky stories and sang spooky songs by torchlight. Just look how amazing we all look dressed up!

A big thankyou to those of you that donated to our nominated charity Candlelighters. We raised £31.14
