The children at Harlequin have been busy making ‘Eco Friendly’ Bird feeders.
We made the feeders using large orange skins after we have eaten them at snack time. Together as a small team the children mixed various seeds with lard and pushed them into the skins. Once made and set, the children looked for bird friendly spots around our garden and forest and carefully hung them.
Every day since, we have inspected them and can tell we have some hungry birds and even our squirrels have been filling up. One squirrel was even seen pinching the entire orange and hopping around with it in its mouth, this was very funny to see.
