Billy Goat Gruff

In Oakwood House forest school today the pre-school children listened to the story of the 3 billy goat gruff while stood next to the troll bridge in the garden. The children began to stomp over the bridge so the troll could hear them.

“The troll felt sad because he didn’t eat any goats”

We then visited our mud kitchen to make some food for the troll so he could feel better.

“I’m making soup for the big troll”,

“I’m making him some pudding and it’s sparkly”

When the food was ready they placed it under the bridge for the Troll.

Story telling outside brings the characters alive and allows the children to become engrossed and engaged in the story in a way that doesn’t happen inside.
