I am the Manager of Portland House and have worked for the Portland Nurseries group for 26 years. I joined the Portland House team in July 1995 as the senior of the baby room which I led for 6 years before taking on the role as Manager.
I have always worked in childcare and gained my NNEB at Percival Whitely College. In 2007 I began my journey into further education graduating with a BA (Hons) in Childcare Management followed by my Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) whilst continuing to work full time managing the nursery.
I have a vast wealth of experience, knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Sector and have led Portland House with my team to achieve three consecutive Ofsted Outstanding’s. The only nursery in Kirklees and Calderdale to do so. An achievement I am extremely proud of. As one of the senior managers in the Portland Nurseries group I support , train and lead staff and managers across the 4 sites.
I love spending precious time with my family and friends . I have two children Harrison and Elise who both went to Portland House as young children. My daughter now works alongside me at the nursery as an early years educator. I absolutely love being creative & crafty. I love cooking , walking and also Zumba.
