Portland Nurseries chosen local charity is The Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. By selecting just one charity we feel we can focus all our efforts and hopefully raise substantial amounts and really try and make a difference.  We hope that you will join Portland Nurseries in supporting this very special charity.

We have had a great summer of fundraising with staff, parents, children and relatives all getting involved. We have seen a number of dare-devil staff tandem sky dive 15,000ft from a plane; a sponsored mini olympics; build your own den festival; Travelling Ted challenge and we had our own stall at the Lindley Carnival selling homemade cup cakes.

This year we have raised over £4752.32 for the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice. Well done everyone!

The Forget Me Not Children's Hospice

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice exists to give vital support to children with a life limiting or life threatening condition, and their families across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield .There are more than 400 children and families in our area who need the help the hospice offers.  Over 20 children and their families are currently being supported through our Hospice at Home service. Each week this number increases

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is currently being built by local building contractors, Marshalls, in Brackenhall, near Huddersfield. The hospice is due to be completed by the end of 2011. It will cost £2.5m to build and equip. The charity must raise over £2.5m per year to ensure we are able to help the children who come to us for support. Only 4% of funding needed to run a children’s hospice service is delivered by the Government.
